About
My Creative Process
A series usually begins as an urge—an impulse to paint a particular subject and to explore the marks, textures, and colors that pull at me. I never start with the intention of conveying a meaning. Only after several pieces are finished do I begin to recognize the feeling running through them. Only then does the common thread become clear, and I understand what I have been reaching toward all along.
My process is rooted in layers and experimentation. My paintings combine strong colors, flowing lines and textures. The layers that appear in my work suggest something underneath. Script, threads and fibers, veins and roots, bonds and connections that weave through. These lines convey memory, as each mark is connected to an event. They reflect my personal feelings and relationships.
What unites all my work is a search for connection. Whether the form is figurative, abstract, or a sketch, each painting seeks to embody the shifting rhythms and seasons of life—always unfolding.
